Typed specifications
For the excursion limiter, LF drivers also need the four motor parameters below. Leave them blank to skip that calculation.
Advanced — wiring, pass band, enclosure, limiter policy
Everything below is pre-set from the selected driver's datasheet with the conservative defaults this tool argues for. Change them only when your rig differs.
Wiring
Pass band
Sets the thermal attack time. Use the actual corner you have programmed, not the driver's rated range.
Enclosure
A driver's excursion threshold is a property of the box it sits in, not of the driver alone. Simulate your cabinet, find the frequency where in-band cone travel peaks — usually near port tuning — and enter it here. Pre-filled with 1.2 × Fs as a placeholder only.
Policy
3 dB — half AES power — holds power compression near 3 dB and motor temperature under 70 °C. An AES rating is a survival rating, not an operating point.
Amplifier power
Filled automatically when an amplifier is selected above. Per channel, at the load impedance shown in the results; checks whether the amplifier can actually reach the peak threshold.
